Dead Horse Point, a natural corral used by cowboys who herded wild horses, roped the ones they wanted, and left the rest to find their way out. As the story goes, a herd of rejected horses could not find their way off of the point, and so died of thirst within sight of the Colorado River, 2000 feet below. >
